Start with the job to be done
BetterWeb brings together tools for content, design, building, and deployment. You do not need every tool to begin. Choose the part of the workflow your project needs now, then add others as it grows.
Content and data
Use ContentGen when you need a starting point for structured content and drafts. Use WebPress when content belongs in a repository and should move through a Git-based editorial workflow.
Design and templates
Use DesignKit for reusable interface components. Use SiteGen to turn a design direction into a site structure and templates.
Build and publish
Use Rustyll for static-site builds. Use StaticCloud as the deployment stage shown in the ecosystem flow.
A practical first workflow
- Explore the ecosystem map and pick one starting tool.
- Check that project’s repository for its current installation, configuration, and compatibility instructions. Commands vary by tool; a generic BetterWeb npm command is not a reliable starting point.
- Build a small page or content item, preview it locally, and adjust the structure before scaling up.
- Follow the publishing instructions for the selected tool and hosting platform.
The workflow examples show how these pieces can fit together. For source code and the site’s own implementation history, visit the BetterWeb website repository.
